What's the big deal with monsters anyway? 

Personally, I find nothing more valuable than creativity. And there is nothing more creative than monsters. But moreover, monsters are the means by which humans navigate the world. They are everything we fear, sure, but they are so much more. Monsters can be anything. One of my favorite things about monsters is they give us something to bond over, to foster a sense of community, a sense of identity. We define ourselves through our monsters.
